With his 28 years of experience as a Senior Executive as well as consultant in the International Human and Veterinary Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology business, Martin offers expertise in both strategy as well as operational implementation. He has worked in diverse roles, climbing in responsibility, in marketing, sales business development and market access in Akzo Nobel, Novartis, Coloplast and Tillotts Pharma. He was responsible for profit and loss of triple digit million-euro budgets and realised double digit compounded annual growth. He also managed acquisition and integration of two double digit million annual sales Product acquisitions of Astra Zeneca and Astellas.
Martin holds a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from University of Utrecht, and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing of the Netherlands Institute for Marketing.
He completed the Novartis Leadership and Marketing Excellence Program at INSEAD, Paris, France and Stanford University, California, USA. He holds diplomas for Finance and CRM management of Henley University, UK; Negotiation skills of Hartley Brewer, UK; Project Management of George Washington University, USA; Negotiation and Licensing for Pharma, CEL, Brussels, Belgium; and IT systems (ERP and Microsoft SharePoint). Martin speaks and writes fluent English, German and Dutch, and has good communication in French and Spanish.
Prior to his industrial career he was involved in Development Aid in Pakistan for 2 years and large and companion animal veterinary practice for 2 years.
For Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology companies’ internal process and agility improvements, he sets up Market research and Advisory board interviews and workshops to gain insights, engage and gain commitment with Health Care Professionals. This includes digital solutions, website design and chatbots for complementing pharma Marketing and Sales. He is founder of Flaryd, an award-winning app of the Basel Area DayOne Digital Health. He was selected to take place in the Basel Area Business & Innovation accelerator bootcamp.
