Fire Hazard Management for Refineries and Tank Farms

    2021 TBA, online training

This 3-day workshop has been designed to give you all of the necessary tools to assess, control and respond to fire hazards at facilities where storage tanks are present. You will return with a practical guide on how to develop and implement cost effective fire hazard management policies that are appropriate for your specific facility. You will learn how to effectively respond to any future incident, but most importantly, build a risk assessment system to avoid them in the first place.

    Who should attend?

    • Fire Responders
    • Safety Professionals
    • System Design Engineers
    • Fire Protection Engineers
    • Loss Prevention Engineers

From refineries, terminals, gas storage, petrochemical facilities, and fire brigades

    Learning Objectives

    • Gain tools to carry out a fire safety self-audit
    • Learn from major incident case studies
    • Rethink your emergency planning and incident response units
    • Learn how to thoroughly assess and control fire related risks in tanks and associated facilities
    • Understand your waterspray, foam and detection systems
    • Evaluate different systems, understand the trade-offs and conduct a Cost Benefit Analysis
    • All lectures will be supported by slide and video presentations and syndicate exercises/case studies

    Key Topics

    • Storage tank scenario exercise calculations
    • Consequence modelling for different fire and explosion types
    • Design,operation and maintenance issues
    • Competency Assessments for emergency planning
    • Critical Performance Criteria for different systems

    • Over 15 hours of interactive learning
    • Case studies, workshops & lessons learned
